Dear Acenet Client,

Due to a wave of recent issues with XO Communications (your server’s internet backbone provider), they’ve been fired. XO Communications has not lived up to their promises and you deserve nothing less than 100% network uptime.

Your server’s network uptime cannot be entrusted to a single backbone provider. That’s why a new network has been built for you — with three internet backbones (Level 3, Savvis, and MCI). You’re going to love it!

Your server is currently using XO Communication’s IP addresses which are about to stop working. It’s important to get your server moved over to the new network and using new IP addresses. You’re looking at less than an hour of actual downtime, but the IP changes could take several hours to propagate.

The anticipated downtime is as follows:

DATE: Monday October 22nd (today) – Tuesday October 23rd (tomorrow) MAINTENANCE WINDOW: 11:00pm (Tonight)- 7:00am (Tomorrow Morning)
DOWNTIME: Approximately 1 hour of downtime. There may be more perceived downtime due to IP propogation.

The good news is your IP addresses will never change again, ever! We now have IP addresses directly through ARIN (American Registry for Internet Numbers). This means future internet backbone changes will not require new IP addresses.

Your server will go offline for up to one hour. When your server comes back online, it will have new IP addresses. No changes are required on your part in regards to the IP change, we’ll handle everything.

If you have any questions regarding the outage, please do not hesitate to post a ticket with our helpdesk.
